Jointly received the highest "Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award" at the "Green Logistics Excellent Business Awards".
On December 18, 2023, we jointly received the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award, the highest award at the 2023 Green Logistics Partnership Awards for Excellent Businesses. The award was given in recognition of the collaboration of several companies from different industries, including shippers, consignees, and logistics companies, and their efforts to build a sustainable logistics system that addresses the 2024 problem and is environmentally friendly through the use of relay transportation and DX.
This is the second consecutive year that they have jointly received the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award.
The three initiatives were jointly awarded as one project, and the details of the case in which PALTAC participated are as follows.
PALTAC / Unilever Japan / Suzuyo
By coordinating orders with the incoming shipper taking into account the optimum loading capacity for each vehicle, the company realized direct transportation without going through a depot warehouse. Furthermore, switching to trailer transportation contributed to a reduction in the number of vehicles required for transportation and CO2 emissions.
<Results of the entire project
Reduction of CO2 emissions: 198.2 t-CO2 in total
Reduction in the number of vehicles...48 vehicles/year (50% reduction)
Actual vehicle rate: Ratio of distance actually loaded to total distance traveled.
PALTAC aims to "make people's lives richer and more comfortable" through efforts to improve delivery efficiency, including the use of its self-developed warehouse dock reservation system, reduction of transportation distances through cooperation and collaboration with suppliers, and improvement of loading rates.
Against this backdrop, this initiative is a measure that was realized through cooperation and collaboration among companies, and has yielded results that contribute to solving social Section issues, such as improving the working environment for drivers and reducing CO2 emissions.
We will continue to promote initiatives that achieve high improvement effects on distribution as a whole, and as an intermediary distributor responsible for the stable supply of daily necessities, we will strive to build a sustainable distribution system.
