AI Ethics Policy
PALTAC has been delivering "safety and security" to our suppliers and consumers with the goal of contributing to the realization of affluent and comfortable lifestyles for people.
PALTAC is working on distribution reform using various technologies to realize a more stable and efficient supply chain, and AI technology is helping us to meet this challenge, but its rapid development has also raised ethical concerns.
Therefore, PALTAC has established the following AI Ethics Policy in the basic spirit of "Sincerity and Honesty," which has been the foundation of PALTAC since its inception.
1.Principle of Human-Centeredness
PALTAC respects human rights and utilizes AI as a convenient tool to enrich people's lives. We will take responsibility for the consequences of AI use in accordance with the characteristics of the problem.
2.Human Resource Development
PALTAC will work to develop human resources with the knowledge and ethics to properly understand the risks and limitations of AI and to use AI in a socially correct manner.
3.Protection of privacy
PALTAC appropriately manages personal information in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and related internal rules. Particularly for AI that handles personal information, PALTAC will carefully consider its impact and use it in such a way that no individual will be disadvantaged.
4.Ensuring Security
PALTAC recognizes the new security risks that arise from the use of AI and strives to ensure appropriate security.
5.Fair Data Collection
PALTAC will collect data only in an appropriate manner to learn and use AI, and will prevent unfair data collection.
6.Fairness and Transparency
PALTAC will strive to ensure fair and transparent decision-making and appropriate accountability for the results, so that people are not unfairly discriminated against or treated unfairly in light of human dignity through the use of AI.
7.Continuous Innovation
PALTAC will continue to promote research and investigation of AI technologies with the aim of creating unique AI applications and value.
8.Revision of this Policy
This policy will be revised as necessary based on technological developments in AI, changes in society, accumulation of case studies, and dialogue with stakeholders.
