Respect for Human Rights

Respect for human rights, which are the fundamental rights that all people are born with, is an important social responsibility that companies must fulfill, and is also essential for achieving sustainable growth. We are working to protect the human rights and working rights of each and every employee and to improve the environment by establishing internal regulations and a hotline to ensure the smooth execution of business operations.

PALTAC Human Rights Policy

PALTAC conducts business activities based on the management philosophy of "contributing to the prosperity of our business partners and the realization of affluent and comfortable lifestyles for people through distribution. We believe that respect for human rights, which are the fundamental rights that all people are born with, is the foundation that supports our entire business activities and leads to sustainable corporate growth.
Based on our management philosophy, we have formulated and implemented the "PALTAC Human Rights Policy" (hereinafter referred to as the "Policy") as a policy to address respect for human rights.

1.Commitment to Respect Human Rights

PALTAC will fulfill its responsibility to respect human rights as a company trusted by society by acting with "Sincerity and Honesty" and social good sense, the basic spirit that has consistently been the starting point of our corporate activities and the actions of our employees since our establishment.

2.Support and Respect for International Norms

PALTAC complies with all applicable laws and regulations in its business activities, and supports and respects international norms related to human rights, such as the International Bill of Human Rights, which stipulates the fundamental human rights that all people around the world should enjoy, and the International Labor Organization's (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, which stipulates fundamental rights at work. We also support and respect international norms related to human rights, such as the International Bill of Human Rights and the Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work of the International Labor Organization (ILO), which stipulates basic rights at work. We will also pursue ways to respect internationally recognized human rights principles when there is a conflict between the laws and regulations of the respective countries and regions in which we operate and internationally recognized human rights norms.

3.Scope of Application

This policy applies to all officers and employees of PALTAC. We also encourage all business partners and other stakeholders involved in our business activities to support this policy and work together to respect human rights.

4.Governance and Management Structure for Human Rights

PALTAC's efforts to respect human rights are discussed by the relevant Departments based on this policy, and the Board of Directors oversees compliance with this policy and its implementation.

5.Human Rights Due Diligence

PALTAC will conduct human rights due diligence to identify, prevent and mitigate negative human rights impacts related to its business activities.

6.Key Human Rights Sections

  • Prohibition of Discrimination
    PALTAC prohibits discrimination of any kind based on gender, age, race, nationality, creed, religion, ideology, social status, or physical or mental disability.
  • Prohibition of inhumane treatment
    PALTAC prohibits all forms of inhumane treatment, including physical and mental abuse and harassment.
  • Appropriate management of working hours and wages
    PALTAC shall properly manage working hours, holidays, and vacations in accordance with laws and regulations, and comply with legal minimum wages.
  • Providing a safe, hygienic and healthy working environment
    PALTAC will support the provision of a safe, healthy, and hygienic working environment not only for its employees, but also for everyone in the supply chain who supports the business, in accordance with laws and regulations.
  • Respect for Freedom of Association and the Right to Collective Bargaining
    PALTAC respects freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining in accordance with laws and regulations.
  • Prohibition of forced labor and child labor
    PALTAC will never permit or allow forced labor or labor by children who are not of legal working age to take place.
  • Respect for privacy and protection of personal information
    PALTAC respects and protects the privacy of individuals. In handling personal information, PALTAC complies with all relevant laws and regulations, takes appropriate measures, and prevents loss or leakage of personal information.
  • Promotion of Diversity and Inclusion
    PALTAC respects all people with diverse values and aims to create an environment where they can play an active role fairly.

7.Correction and Remediation

PALTAC will establish and appropriately operate a system to receive consultation from internal and external stakeholders in order to identify, prevent, and mitigate the negative impact of its business activities on human rights more broadly. In cases where PALTAC's business activities have caused negative impacts on human rights or its involvement in such impacts has been identified, PALTAC will take corrective action through appropriate procedures.

8.Dialogue and Consultation

PALTAC will strive to build relationships of trust with various stakeholders through dialogue and consultation in order to understand the impact of its business activities and take appropriate measures.

9.Education and Penetration

PALTAC will continuously educate its officers and employees to ensure that this policy is incorporated into all business activities and that each and every one of them is aware of it so that they can respond appropriately.

10.Disclosure of Policy and Information

We will regularly report information on our human rights initiatives and progress through our website and various reports.

Creation of a Safe and Secure Work Environment

PALTEK is implementing various initiatives to build an organization that respects basic human rights and allows each and every employee to work with vigor and enthusiasm.

Establishment of anti-harassment rules

Based on the enforcement (June 1, 2020) of the Revised Labor Policy Promotion Act and the so-called "Power Harassment Prevention Act," we have established rules for sexual harassment and power harassment in the workplace and are taking the necessary measures.

Establishment of a Reporting Desk

To protect the human rights and working rights of employees and to ensure the smooth execution of work, we have set up a contact point for consultation on workplace issues such as sexual harassment, power harassment, gender harassment, and interpersonal relationships.

Establishment of the Review Board

In order to maintain good human relations and an orderly workplace, a review board has been established to hear the opinions of relevant parties and deliberate on any suspected cases of noncompliance or harassment.
