Our Approach to Sustainability Promotion
We have always aimed to “realize a rich and comfortable life for people” and have worked to solve social issues through the optimization and efficiency of distribution.
And in the current era of rapid social change, we believe that in order to continue to realize comfortable and prosperous lives for people in the future, it is important to bring about further innovation in distribution.
We will take on the challenge of innovation in distribution by making the most of the “connections” we have with everyone involved with PALTAC and the “power to connect” we have built up over the 125 years since our founding, and we will contribute to the realization of a sustainable society through the creation of new value in society and the environment.
Basic Sustainability Policy
Based on the foundation of "Sincerity and Honesty," the starting point of our actions, we have established the following seven basic policies for the promotion of sustainability, and will promote our business activities in accordance with these policies.
- PALTAC will work together with various stakeholders to solve social issues and enrich people, society, and the environment that surrounds them.
- PALTAC will strive to reduce the environmental impact of its entire supply chain and protect the global environment through its business activities.
- PALTAC will create an autonomous and spontaneous organizational culture and environment in which diverse human capital can thrive, and promote business activities that are worthwhile.
- PALTAC will respect international norms related to human rights and work together with our suppliers to fulfill our responsibility to respect human rights throughout the supply chain.
- PALTAC will ensure compliance with laws and regulations, conduct business activities with integrity and high ethical standards, and act to maintain the trust of our stakeholders.
- PALTAC will identify environmental changes at an early stage, identify threats and opportunities, analyze and evaluate their impact, and ensure appropriate risk management.
- PALTAC will establish a governance system that ensures transparency, soundness, and effectiveness of management through appropriate information disclosure and dialogue with stakeholders.
Sustainability Promotion Structure

PALTAC is promoting company-wide initiatives centered on the Sustainability Project, which was established under the direct supervision and direction of the Representative Director and President, in order to address sustainability issues such as appropriate responses to climate change and the improvement of human capital. The Sustainability Project identifies risks and opportunities that may affect the business, and formulates policies for responding to them. The CSR Promotion Headquarters, which serves as the secretariat for the project, regularly reports the results of these activities to the Board of Directors, which manages and supervises the content of the reports.
